The Dalby Forest cycling trails attract thousands of riders from far and wide. With 6 main cycling trails ranging from child/beginner all the way up to world championship trails, there is definitely something for everyone. You can now rent top of the range full suspension electric bikes to ride on the trails. No need to waste your energy on a regular bike anymore.

Possibly one of the best things for people from the city is the fact that Dalby forest is a designated Dark Sky Discovery site. This means there is so little light pollution you can experience the magic of the milky way with the naked eye.

Castle Howard

Castle Howard is a stately home between Malton and York. The house is a private residence of the Howard family and has been for more than 300 years. The house is build atop a former castle and while not being itself fortified, if often referred to as a castle.

The house is well known for its vast gardens and water features. There are 1,000 acres of parkland for the public to explore. The area promotes a great sense of peace and tranquility via it's woodland walks, temples, lakes and fountains.

Castle Howards' walled garden is beautiful. Created in the early 18th century as a kitchen garden, the area still features a fair amount of fruit and vegetables. The rest of the site has been dedicated to over 2,000 variates of roses, England's most comprehensive. This rose garden is dedicated to the memory of Lady Cecilia Howard.
